Raelynn’s Baptism

by Ryan McLaughlin ~ October 11th, 2008

Raelynn got baptized this Saturday. It is hard to believe that she is 8 years old.

Before the baptism Jennifer’s mom sewed a beautiful baptism dress for Raelynn.  Jennifer took Raelynn out in the yard to take some pictures.

Happy Birthday Raelynn

by Ryan McLaughlin ~ September 21st, 2008

Raelynn just recently had her 8th birthday. Jennifer wanted to make it really special, so she planned a surprise birthday party. Jennifer had several of Raelynn’s friends meet over at a neighbor’s house early in the morning, and then they all walked over to our house. The girls all snuck into Raelynn’s room and shouted Surprise to wake her up. Raelynn was very excited.

Soccer has officially begun

by Ryan McLaughlin ~ August 28th, 2008

Soccer season has begun and we are in full swing. Raelynn and Jaren are both playing, so every Tuesday and Thursday we have two games to attend. Luckily the games are at the same park, unluckily they are usually at the same time. Jennifer and I split up so at least one of us is at each game, we usually swap at half time Continue reading »

First day of school

by Ryan McLaughlin ~ August 18th, 2008

I remember some of my first days of school. They were not always the happiest of times. I enjoyed my summers and did not want them to end. Lucky for me my kids don’t feel the same way. Both Raelynn and Jaren were excited to start school again.

Soccer Clinic

by Ryan McLaughlin ~ August 12th, 2008

Soccer is starting soon so the kids got to go to a soccer clinic. The clinic was a quick two day event where the kids got to brush up on some of the basics. They had fun, but it will be much better when they get to play in a real game.

by Ryan McLaughlin ~ August 9th, 2008

Our primary had a parade today. The theme this year is countries of the world. Our class picked Ireland, partially because Jennifer and I have been there. Each class, teachers and children, were suppose to dress up in something that represented the country.

Home Depot Kids Workshop

by Ryan McLaughlin ~ August 2nd, 2008

On the first Saturday of every month Home Depot puts on a kids Workshop. They provide small projects for the kids, each project comes with everything you need except the tools. The projects can be completeted fairly quickly (15 minutes each) and without a lot of tools (a hammer and glue is the most we have needed, which they provide).

Learning to ride a bike

by Ryan McLaughlin ~ July 28th, 2008

Keaten has been asking me to take the training wheels off his bike for a long time, but I have been resistant. I did not want to do it because he does not know how to ride without them and he would get frustrated and I would have to put them back on. So I told him that as soon as he can ride Raelynn’s old bike, which is the same size as his and does not have training wheels, I would take them off of his. So we have worked with him for a couple weeks to learn to ride the bike, but as I predicted he would get frustrated about falling down, give up and go back to riding his bike with training wheels.
