We just got back from a small McLaughlin family gathering. This was to get all the McLaughlins that live in the area together to renew some old ties, sorry Jared– I forgot to call you.

As you can see from the pictures we had a fairly good showing. Lori and Gordon Smith, Sue’s daughter, hosted the event at their house. They actually live very close to us in Spanish Fork. Others that attended were Mike and Ruth Chatfield (currently serving a mission at the Salt Lake temple), Heather, Chris, Ken and Caroline McLaughlin, Audrey and Nathan Melton, Leah and Kyle (her new husband), and Dennis & Emma Fisher. There were others but I don’t remember their names. We all had fun getting to know each other and the kids had fun playing in the back yard, dodging rain drops.

Even Madelynn got into the spirit of things. I still cannot figure out how she got cream on her face and cake on the floor all at the same time. She must have tipped the plate up to eat the cake and it hit her face on the way to the ground.

We are going to try and get together every couple months. I hope it works out.
