Yesterday was Madelynn’s birthday. Can you believe that she is already one year old? She is getting big so fast.

First came the presents. Mostly she got clothes, but she also got a small stroller and a doll. She loves dolls. This one can make noises and move and every time the noises go off she moves as fast as she can to the doll and grabs it tight. As you can see it was a bit of a cat fight to get some of the presents opened.

The kids all took turnes pushing Madelynn around in the stroller and then Madelynn wanted a turn pushing it.

As is the tradition in our house, on the first birthday we always make the child their own cake and then we let them go at it. Every child has eaten the cake differently. Some have dug right in and made a mess. Others picked at the cake until they got a tast of it and then they dug in. Madelynn wanted to pick off all the little candies on top first and then she dug in.

The rest of us shared a larger cake.
